Fire Department Chronicles on YouTube has some really funny skits, but the complete lack of respect for the 180 degree rule or any sort of consistent blocking/sightlines can be really distracting: watching this, I have no idea where each of these characters are standing relative to each other.

I have a theory that, as the “unfunny number” sandwiched between two other funny numbers, 68 will eventually become funny simply by association. Or through memes like this which point this out.

On their second channel, the Epic Rap Battles guys post reaction videos to suggested matchups. One of their dream matchups is Willy Wonka vs Pablo Escobar with Weird Al playing Wonka but they’re afraid he’d say no because of the gratuitous drug references that would be involved.

As of writing, it’s getting review bombed mainly for long queue times and streamers getting preferential treatment.

One review says it worked on Linux/Proton during the beta and the devs even demoed it on the Steam Deck (citation needed), but they introduced a kernel-level anticheat right before launch and now it doesn’t work.

Another reviewer is saying the anticheat made his Windows BSOD.

May be worth letting the dust settle on this one.

By modern standards, you didn’t really get ghosted. That text was him calling it off. It sucks, but I’m afraid that’s about as good as you’re probably gonna get.

I’ve been in your shoes, wracked my brain trying to think about everything I might have done wrong and wishing they’d tell me exactly why they weren’t interested so I could try to fix it.

I’ve also been the guy in this situation, having figured out that I’m not interested in the person and struggling to put it into words. Maybe the vibe wasn’t right, maybe we had different expectations, maybe there’s nothing wrong with them physically but yet for some reason I’m just not attracted to them. I’m ashamed to admit I have just ghosted people because it’s easier than telling them the truth. Maybe the times I got ghosted in return was some sorta karma.

You shouldn’t blame yourself or assume anything is wrong. It sounds like this guy just had different expectations about some things, and that’s perfectly fine. You shouldn’t try to look for anything you need to change about yourself just to find a partner. Keep looking for someone who’s willing to accept you as you are.

Or what about how the first fifteen minutes of each season 2 episode is just “last time on…” and viewers decide they don’t have the time for this shit

Seems like a positive feedback loop:

1. Netflix creates show that’s pretty good
2. People watch it
3. Netflix takes too long to release season 2
4. People forget show exists, stop watching
5. Netflix drops a season years later
6. No one watches it because they forgot what happened in season 1 and Netflix shows are so serial that you have to know what happened
7. Netflix cancels show due to low viewership
8. Fans of the show feel jilted and slam Netflix on social media
9. Rinse and repeat

These might be sold separately but don’t cheap out, if you want them to wear evenly then replace both at the same time.

I’ve been saying this for a while: without opining whether or not machine learning models are even capable of consciousness, there’s no way in hell LLMs are.

These are once-through, completely immutable models. Any activity that could be remotely construed as “thought” evaporates the instant it outputs a token, and then it starts over from scratch.

Good fucking luck being conscious when your consciousness only exists for a fraction of a fraction of a second at a time.

I honestly don’t get what people were so up in arms about, besides just not wanting to change what already worked for them.
