The first commercial convention oven was released in the 1940s. The first prototype of the general concept happened in the 1910s.

Even if you mean the modern household tabletop convenience version, the Nuwave convection oven was already an informercial staple by 2003.

Yes I suspect that the original intent here was less about supernatural brownies points and much more about harmful lifestyle traps. The seven deadly sins seem to me to be mental compulsions that can lead to fixated and broken lifestyles without awareness or pushback. Like feeling sexual attraction is great, but not if your day to day life is focused solely on it. Relaxation and rest is great, but can lead to stagnation if not unchecked.

That’s fine, you can enjoy the silliness of an error or fun addition to the joke. But that’s still not “the joke” being made, which is my point.

That makes no sense. You could literally remove the dates entirely and that point would still be made just by Mario -> Last of Us. Having the incorrect date for Mario doesn’t reinforce that point in any way.

That’s literally not the joke though. The joke doesn’t change at all if we correct the date to 1985, so clearly the error not only isn’t the joke, it’s not even a part of the joke. How is this so upvoted? People just slackjawed reacting like “omfg I remember the Simpsons!”

That feels an even sillier concern; what is a child going to do on a gambling site without some adult payment method to access services? And if you say “well they can steal their parent’s credit card,” how would that not equally apply to a parent’s photo ID or anything else necessary for age-verification?

Why do we need to? What’s the risk, some unsupervised kid with neglectful parents might see porn? Oh man, just imagine the world-ending consequences if that happened!

That much I know, I guess I just don’t understand the relevance in terms of my comment or this discussion. Did East Berlin’s economy policy succeed and become the defacto western status quo? If not, isn’t this a non-sequitur to the conversation about the ills of capitalism and the loss of true freedom and agency. Unless I guess the point was “we’ve tried making other systems but they get torn down?”
