  • I couldn’t agree with you more. I posted a similar comment on the music post about this and boy oh boy, it was an avalanche of downvotes and I was supporting genocide.

To me the whole thing is blown way out of proportion and that was my point. Nothing to do with the issue itself, just to the strong overreaction, fed now by the media and bots.

  • Such bullshit. You’re buying into exactly what the American propaganda bubble wants you to believe. The US is now pretty much the only country in the world banning Chinese EV’s.

It has been proven that there is no distributed spy network. Unlike the ability to disable features in the F35 which is why most European countries are moving away from any American tech. Talk about spyware.

But please keep buying outdated American combustion cars with no innovation. Or Teslas that don’t even pass the basic safety tests in Europe and can’t be sold anywhere outside the US. I’m loving my Xiaomi SU7, just like Ford CEO who refuses to give it up.

  • Because the Netherlands is a nanny state. I’m so happy I’ve left many years ago. I get so depressed when I have to go back for family visits. Can’t take money out from your own bank account because you are a criminal, can’t get housing because of stikstof, can’t build anything because of stikstof, people need to go electric but the infrastructure is broken so can’t get like a heat pump or EV charger for x number of years. The country is well broken. And if anyone tries to get something done, it will end up in court which just drags on and on.

My Dutch friends here have a saying now: In Holland mag je niets en kan je niets.

  • You hit the nail on the head. Things get done in China. In my birth country, Netherlands, it is a drama with environmental concerns, paperwork, licenses, animals etc.

For example Netherlands introduced toll for trucks to move them to electric. But to install a charger at the trucking company, it will take upto 7 years!! That is totally insane. And since there is a change of government every 4 years or 2 years currently, everything changes again.

At least all the investment in infrastructure in China benefits its citizens. Unlike investing more in the military industrial complex.

Don’t you think having clean, reliable, innovative transport should be prioritized? How can you be proud of a 100 year old system that is crumbling and no notion of any investment. Maybe now NYC has a ‘socialist’ mayor, things will improve. But to catch up will take a long time.

  • It’s just that the American infrastructure is so far behind. The subway trains are so old, dirty and rundown. Not to mention graffiti everywhere. Much of the NYC Subway system, specifically track switches and signals, is still manually operated, as it still relies on the 100-year-old technology.

Most busses are still combustion engine instead of electric like most of the western world.

The US train infrastructure is an embarrassment. What China build in 20 years in high speed train is insane. The US or in this case California agreed in the same year 2008 to start om a high speed rail network. The 725 miles of track will maybe completed by 2033. In the meantime China build over 15000 km of high speed railway track. The comfort on the trains can’t even compare to air travel. Most Chinese prefer train over air.

  • Same old shit, different day. Can’t you find anything original? Post something negative about ICE on YouTube or something negative about Israel.

I got perma banned from reddit because of my comment that all the ICE traitors will never get their sign on bonus - which they haven’t - and after this is all over, they will have to go back to sucking immigrant cock behind the dollar store.

So don’t talk to me about propaganda and censorship. Western tech companies are just as bad if not worse. Especially Twitter or X or Y or whatever that shit is called, doesn’t know the first thing about free speech. Not that surprising if the owner does a Hitler salute.

Edit: one last thing. How much better is the American TikTok after it was taken over by another right wing company? Yeah, I thought so.

  • That is not what I’m saying. I’m saying that the US as well as certain other western countries are so obsessed and overreacting to anything made by the Chinese. Like the EV’s for example. Most of the world is now letting go of prejudice and import multiple brands of of Chinese EV’s. They actually pass European safety standards unlike the cyber truck. The only country now that keeps limiting its choice for its citizens, is the US. And using spying as an excuse to enrich the establishment.

Of course all countries spy. But the thought of putting spyware in memory chips is a stretch. Just costwise it’s not feasible.
