As for ease of use and familiarity, it seems to have reached par as far as a couple of my less technical friends go (see screenshot below for similarity to discord - its practically identical to our old setup).

As for on boarding, use cinny.in as your client (and don’t tell your users that other clients exist) and you are off to the races!

In my experience it has been a 1:1 discord replacement. It has channels, all kinds of emojis, video/voice calls, and multiple clients that give a very similar appearance to discord.

Yeah, this - one of the big reasons I still have a google account is for convenient location sharing with family and friends.

Interesting, I have not had perfect results with it (certainly a lot of places are not on OSM yet or up to date), but I’ve generally had a good time with this app. Bookmarked locations work perfectly for me, better than google maps, and the lists/folders are really nice for organizing bookmarks. I have never gotten stuck in the menus at all (android here). However I very much agree that the UX could use a serious design overhaul (but its way nicer/quicker and more intuitive to use than OsmAnd!).

Same, I fight the consumerist urge to catch them all keep everything, but instead shoot for a lower need to purchase more and consume more hardware. Electricity is cheap where I live, so downloading, then deleting shows that I and my household are unlikely to watch again for many years just makes more sense.

Maybe I’m just tired after a 13 hour construction work day, but what is ezekial bread? Is this a christian bread?! And why? I googled it and it just seems to be whole grain bread?

Huh, that’s interesting - when I imagine things it is almost always clear, not like a projected image, and definitely how it is/would be like if I was there. I have trained my imagination for running D&D games so that I can describe a scene better for my players.

I often imagine I go on trips to my imagined D&D setting, including things down to the details of feeling the woodgrain of the bar where I am sipping on an imaginary rum.

I wonder if your experience with aphantasia has made what I find normal to be a near mystical experience for you?

My most controversial take is that the story makes no sense and clearly was not really planned out. The ending basically sucks. A reboot could do wonders (unfortunately, not the reboot that we got though). (Probably not that controversial really).

Non-controversialy, the premise of tiny robots fighting a cancer to save a giant body is amazing, the ideas and concepts unique and delightfully alien in a similar way to Morrowind in how the world is so bizarre yet grounded enough that it can really pull you in!

This is similar to the situation I am in, I have just moved out of the religious community, and am finding other communities do in fact exist out there as well. I specifically left due to a local church issue with the queer community, and now am much more involved with pride events and those communities as an ally. It has been very rewarding to be able to help out, and I feel that I get a similar level of community and support (though that of course may be different in your situation). Best of luck moving forward with your life!
