That’s a bit evil
especially when the browser auto reopens the last tab

on the up side to that is Emu taste real nice, and I hear that the US is having a problem with beef

but look at how large Australia looks in the second, maybe that is an alternative place to look to invade - and they have rearearth minerals

so why was I getting hit with over 1,400,000 request a day to the web URI and not the API by some bot farm in China the other week. They were also hitting other lemmy instances.
I blocked the fuckers, no qualms at all.
Even if they were using the API they were not being nice about their shit.
i use All and scaled
this came from an interaction with codex, i swore at it and told it to make a meme about the interaction

There has been chatter in the past that @sanitation@lemmy.today is a bot, maybe they just have a lot of time on their hands

well just looking at their profile on the home instance maybe 1/3 or more of the communities are unknown to my instance.

There are down votes and comments so not sure? Might be a bot with a human occasionally logging into the account?

leave my ellipses alone you young little whipper—sapper

Well done on getting it up and running, federation seems to be working https://moplemmy.fyi/instances & https://phiresky.github.io/lemmy-federation-state/site?domain=moplemmy.fyi
You shouldn’t have to put instances in the Allowed Instances, just use blocked list for stuff you dont want to see
Yes email is a pain in the arse. More so if you are having to deal with dynamic IPs
Now just wait for the scrapers to turn up. Both Dave (lemmy.nz) and I are getting well in excess of 500k requests from content scrapers per day atm and they are tyring to pull in whole comment trees and walk through all posters.
Have a look at Iocaine to help tarpit some of them if you dont want to route through something like cloudflare.

Joints and back start hurting, especially if you did very physical work while younger

Yeah, I have put on as much weight from 50 - 52 as I did from 40 - 50. But I have moved from working hard to hardly working (moved into a management position) so it’s hardly surprising I guess

it might have even been 6.x as it was a burnt copy from a friend

/me remembers Mandrake 7.0 as my first linux
You are meant to butter uo your instance admins up you know
As a instance admin, that would be excitable
This one did, at least in general terms
