I have very limited experience in LARGE corporations. But it seems to me those are all “putting out fires” positions requiring some level of rapport with key individuals and usually privileged knowledge.

Not saying it justifies the exorbitant salaries they get. Just explaining why in a “shareholder profits first” system we’re not seeing AI’s running corporations.

The main thing is that a human with subject matter knowledge designed the phonetic library. AI sloppers are leaving that for the LLM to hallucinate.

I mean, ultimately it would be slower than just having a person. Serving less customers per hour is part of it, but also people may go elsewhere if they see a lineup.

Just speaking as someone who worked drive thru at mcdicks for a year. Not saying I endorse it.

What annoys me is that automating order taking doesn’t require a full LLM. They could easily program a voice to text system with a library of food items, basic voice commands, and have the outputs display on the screen so that the user can verify and correct the order verbally.

Like smart tech doesn’t need to know anything beyond it’s job. But they’re trying to normalize these massively superflous systems because the economics of big corporations has completely decoupled from reality. && Fascism.

It is in the belief of this film maker that they are doing something good, making art, by reaching into the chasm of artlessness and apathy for inspiration.

How do you convey that without showing them pouring hours of time into prompting though? One can write a book chapter about prompting AI that is engaging to read because we can use 1st person perspective or 3rd person omniscience to hear the thoughts and feelings of the character. A movie forces us to look at the room, and rely on either narration or exposition to convey feelings.

Not saying it’s impossible to write a good story about it. But I think film would be a particularly challenging medium.

The intensity of stupidity looking back at you is just amazing.
