I refuse arabic numbers. What the fuck is 2? 7? 9??? These are all made up concepts invented to corrupt the mind of people.
Look at how elegant these look instead: 10, 111, 1001.

8·15 days agoAs much as I like this move, I think Tetris cannot claim to own the concept of 4 block stacker games, a positive legal outcome could be disasterous for all Tetris fangames.

1·28 days agoTurkey tried to push Pardus (a debian based distro developed in Turkey) in its earliest days as a national OS alternative that on a proposed law would be required to be listed as an option you can choose when buyjng your computer, then Bill Gates stepped in to have talks with the government and that law idea stopped.
Currently they’re on another push by having it be taught on computer lessons and forcing it on smart boards, but the effects it could’ve gotten back then would be crazy.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How should i organize my passwords?
1·3 months agoI still do, the problem is most of them fall under the category “Internet” and “Internet Alts”
Other folders are “API Keys”, “Locally Hosted”, “IRL”, “Cards/Banking”, “Wi-Fi” which are really situational and I don’t need to add stuff to them often.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the most useless thing you’ve had confiscated by airport security while traveling?
10·3 months agoI’ve packed some food with in a freeze bag alongside some frozen water bottles in it to keep it cool. But appearently water is not allowed within a size limitation, and that somehow includes ice. I’ve had to argue for 10 minutes about what is solid/fluid and they eventually let me keep it.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are you gonna be buying a Steam machine?
1·3 months agoit’s a straight downgrade for me, so no way I’d replace it as my daily driver.
I could consider one if the prices go down like below 600$ range, switch up my media center with it maybe. Impossible with the current prices though.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How would you undermine open source software?
24·3 months agoDropping all of that budget to art universities to have them teach Adobe software primarily. Inkscape, Kdenlive and GIMP do not have the funds to compete in this way, and once people learn a software to do their job, it becomes really hard to switch. Sure, enthausists can learn other open software, that’s not my target audience. My target audience is the one that uses such software to earn their money, and most of them will pursue higher education before doing so to learn their tools better, and Adobe will make that money back really easily with their subscription plans.

292·4 months agoThe article calling their moderation hands-off stuck out to me because you can’t really call Steam’s approach hands off by any means, they’ve banned some Japanese VNs before and most VN discovery guides will encourage you to use other marketplaces to avoid possible censorship, because it happens.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Simple solution to avoid paying those outrageous Apple prices for charging cords
17·4 months agoWant to have a battery that lasts for infinity? Troll Science has got your back.
V = I.R
where V is the voltage(volt), I is current(amphere) and R is resistance (ohm)
Battery lifespan is calculated with mAh (mili amphere hour), basically ampheres per hour.
We have already increased voltage to the AC (220 V), but we can go further and decrease the resistance.
Longer cable = higher resistance
Shorter cable = lower resistance
Place the battery directly into the AC without a cable
No cable = no resistance
Now, the previously mentioned equation turns into
220 = I.0
This results in I becoming infinite. Electricity companies will go bankrupt, AI companies will be jelly. Problem?
