Now just make it so you can’t borrow against your stock and see how useless his money is 98% of his money is tied up in 2 companies, both very overvalued

What the fuck

I actually hated the “journalism” done by CNN here. This one is a little better: https://www.forbes.com/sites/ronshevlin/2026/02/27/block-lays-off-40-of-staff-and-blames-it-on-ai-dont-buy-the-excuse/

Since this time period I’ve noticed a severe drop in quality from software companies, to the point I have stopped using most products - which in a result drops the companies profits more 😂

Definitely excuse. So many of these companies dramatically over hired during COVID, then after COVID saw a normalization of profits, and a loss because they over hired.
Take block for an example, double or tripled their employees since COVID, but around 2022-2023 their profits fell off hard - they said “AI” is why they’re doing cuts. No, they’re doing cuts because they’re going under

Paid healthcare isn’t better, it took me 2 days to get medicine I needed because of “referrals needed”

Now, think of this. We pay 24% federal and some of us pay 9% state tax, meaning people like in California lose 33% instantly and our benefit is…military? Ambulances cost $1000, hospital visits cost you a soul, or your first born. Yeah, I’d prefer to just pay 40% and have the benefits you have.

You know what’s sad, US companies will jump on it in a heart beat, they don’t care about America at all.

Yup, an extremely abused program by them to underpay, and hold them hostage to the company. They could easily hire Americans, especially in the bay, but they chose not to.

Damn, who knew the flip phones from 2005 would make a come back

One of the worst companies to work for, truly.

Yuup, crazy we elected Epstein’s best friend forever and now we’re being monitored not the child rapists

Fellow here, I wanted to +1 job hopping. I went from $75k in 2020 to $200k in 2026 doing this. If I stayed at a company I’d need 2 promotions and with COLA 3% adjustment I’d still be short of my current wage by quite a bit. Loyalty pays with underpaying, but gives you a sense of job security.
Having multiple offers creates a bid war, much like the COVID house prices that’s how you can inflate your salary. Also, salary > RSU + bonus + salary
Edit: and so it’s clear - my improvement is an outlier, usually it’s 20-30% when you job hop, I just ended up picking up a very niche role no one does and jumped to that payband

We’re living with the consequences of his generation and the generation before him currently. Unaffordable housing, low wages, high taxes, falling apart economies and a constant threat that we’ll be replaced as soon as possible to please the CEO lords in the name of short term profits!

Most corporations are near-term driven, not long term. It’s why many don’t innovate anything anymore. Quarterly profits matter more than anything

Severance clauses are becoming more and more common now due to people being fired left and right. Id sacrifice pay for it.

I’m fortunately still remote. However, I explicitly had my contract state that if I am to be RTO’d I require a 25% pay raise. I also had a guaranteed severance clause added if I was let go in the first year.
Personally, if they fire me if they did an RTO I wouldn’t care, I have other remote opportunities lined up.
Edit: I’ll never do the 4+ hour total daily commute I was doing before, it sucked the life out of me. (I lived 40 miles from the office…) I would gladly give up 15% pay to keep a remote role.

Has meta ever invented anything? I always thought it was ironic he called out apple for iPhone and then doing nothing, but all they’ve successfully created was Facebook, they bought everything else and illegally sold our data to get rich

Almost all the road work around me is state, not federal.
And if their value drops, just have your other company bail them out for triple their value and make your company double in value! Woooo!
