Even when they rip off another pattern, it’s a mess. It’s in the range of uncanny Valley where it makes enough sense to workup, but it doesn’t make the item you’re looking to make (which is usually the original pattern).
I’m just salty the internet/new books got flooded with these patterns so its a little more difficult to trust the process.
What if I like crochet patterns that work? I don’t understand how AI can be capable of so much technical stuff that we are trusting it with little to no oversight, but go ahead, ask it to generate a crochet/knitting pattern and then follow it and tell me what you get. 🤣
I just had my first encounter with one of these dudes. He was at my booth at a market and picked up and read aloud the label of every single one of my products and I was really confused why and then saw his glasses. I didn’t really know what to do. It was upsetting. I’m shy and don’t like being filmed but it was a public space. I’m also horrible at confrontation and it takes a lot for me to speak up. Is there a light supposed to be on those glasses when they are actively recording? I’m trying to figure out if he was just unique or if I’m in his video somewhere.
This is really solid advice. Sometimes, I see people with rose colored glasses and always give them the benefit of the doubt that things are accidents. Eventually, they’ll so something that is so blatantly not an accident, I can’t see them the same any more. Now, rule of thumb, I can’t be friends with someone capable of malice.
I had a friend I loved so much, it took me forever to see the real her, granted she was careful for many years to only show me what I wanted to see. When she revealed who she was, it took me a few years to come to terms with it. At first I thought she was going through a hard time. It wasn’t a phase.
I wish I had your advice then, because I took a lot of hurt before I finally gave up. She is who she is and loving someone a lot and being patient won’t change that and I was just getting clobbered like a fool in the process.

I read this book this week called Oops I accidentally ate a vengence demon and there is a character who died as a toddler by drowning in the tub and then her mom went insane and used necromancy to bring her back and it went awry. She went through necrosis and by the time they figured out how to stop her from progressing, all that was left was her bones. So she is a walking skeleton with an illusion on her at all times.
