That reminds me of the game Tactical Breach Wizards. The healer character’s signature ability is to instantly restore someone to their recent prior physical state, but the catch is that it only works on the recently deceased. So, if you tell her to heal a teammate who’s still alive, she pulls out her large mundane handgun and shoots them dead so she can heal them back up. It never stops feeling uncomfortable having her do that. Great game.

Yes, the land was bought with donations in an effort to protect it. What? No, at no point did they sell the land, not sure were you got that idea. The trespassers (SpaceX) vacated (took all their shit and left) the plot. It was then restored, as much as possible, to its previous state. They had hoped to get enough money to refund everyone who donated and keep the land, but their lawyers advised that the settlement offer of stopping trespassing and restoring the land was already as good as they were going to get in court. Sadly “restored” is the closest they could do to protecting it, at a high legal expense to themselves.

I was thinking they set the machine to 135, didn’t realize it was F, and as a non-American assumed it was C. They are way over the medium-rare cook that would have produced though. Still, if they then microwaved them long enough to produce a sear effect on the outside, that would explain the end result.

Your example isn’t even far fetched. A friend of mine who worked in construction knew a crew of framers whose employer paid them based on the number of nails they used. Of course, they did exactly what their dumb employer should have expected them to do: Use way more nails than needed. Any place a nail would fit, they added one. He said listening to the crew work was literally a non-stop rapid fire thunk thunk thunk thunk as at least one of them was busy emptying his nailgun into the work at any given time. No idea how they stayed in business, but people giving dumb incentives is nothing new.

Well, that’s A solution to that particular paradox. If those are someone’s beliefs, well they’d be a hypocrite if they didn’t have sex with their bros. Or, I guess wives being “impure” after marriage would technically also work. Somehow I doubt they would like that one either. Oh right! Can’t forget that the Ben Franklin strategy also solves this paradox.

I’m still just going to stick with my prefered solution of not judging people based on arbitrary sexual standards. Bam, no paradox! It’s a strategy I recommend for everyone.
