I always say if I were a billionaire I would fund games and shows left and right, there are so many ideas that die or fizzle because of lack of funding. Seems like most people with money have no other passion but their money and controlling others.

Not trying to tell you to parent better, shit’s hard, but I see two possible things that might help.
First, any device he uses should be filtered from the open internet on router level with a white list of approved things he can access.
And second, you really need to talk with him about it. Why it’s a bad idea to text numbers of the floor, how cards are gambling and how specifically gabling will ruin his life and about addiction and how almost everything on the internet is designed to create it and abuse it. These would be long and not just once conversations with examples and reiterations because the subjects are complex and he will need a long time to process and absorb all that.

I have raid 5 to protect against hdd failure and I run syncthing and duplicati on immich and other folders for on premise and remote backups.
What I’m curious about is how people make stuff like Immich and nextcloud available to other people outside their network? When I need to access something remotely I vpn in. I know I don’t have the knowledge to have my server connected to the open internet in a secure manner. I don’t think someone like family members would ever want to bother with anything other than a link and a login page so only me and my partner use these services.
Cheap ones and airfryers. Normal cooking temperatures are 170-200, I only go above that for pizzas. No idea what you do with 218, I would only expect burnt ousides and gooey uncooked insides.
That’s just because where you live it’s the wild west but in other parts of the world removing an airbag or changing an exhaust without certification is a periodic inspection failure and you can’t drive that vehicle on public roads until you fix it.

Exactly. Most products are discontinued after a year or two, that never meant they should stop functioning as soon as that happens. Sounds like more excuses planted from the industry itself instead of an independent commission properly understanding what they are dealing with.
It’s true that there’s a lot of AAA slop out there, but my all time favorite games have all been AAA in their time. Cyberpunk can still push my PC to its limits to this day.
For people like me we live in depressing times, although technically there’s no current game I am interested in that is beyond my PC’s capabilities. Good thing past me thought 32GB is a good addition in the before times when it only cost as much as a fancy meal.
Mint has been glazed since the beginning of time. Not a single laptop or computer I have ever owned has worked out of the box with it. As opposed to alternatives like Ubuntu or Fedora. I must be the single most unlucky person in the history of Linux.
