  • Alcohol reduces your emotional inhibitors and lowers your ability to think rational while simultaneously doing fuck all for your cortisol level. You are more likely to act on your dark thoughts under influence.

The only “benefit” for your mood is a short increase in serotonin levels, but that high only lasts if you keep drinking, otherwise your level normalizes in the next hour or so.

If a shot or two of Bourbon really affects your mood to a significant degree, then you are already dependent on alcohol and you were on edge cause you didn’t get your fix for the day.

  • The issue is that they can just reuse the existing art once they’ve “removed” the poison that was used on it. The artworks with poison in them aren’t forever inaccessible to them, they just get them slightly later.

That doesn’t mean we should stop, but it still is a war that we ultimately can’t win. Even if the poison technology advances faster than the AI companies are, they can simply use slightly older art with a less sophisticated version of poison.

  • It’s not an offense to drive on medications unless it impares you

Its not that its no offense, you simply can’t be prosecuted if no one knows about it. But that doesn’t equal legal. If you get into an accident and anyone finds out that you took opioide, even just medical painkillers, you will be attributed most of the blame in court.

That also means I could drive whilst high from my cannabis prescription if there was no imparement.

A prescription only provides defense in court, not an immunity to prosecution. It still is in your responsibility to prove that you weren’t impaired by your medication, which is nearly impossible. If your tolerance is high enough that your reaction time doesn’t decrease, then its nearly useless either way.

  • That’s not even the issue, it simply isn’t worth it for chip manufactors to ramp up production.

Chip manufacturing is so expensive that machines have to run at 100% capacity to make reasonable profit margins from consumer hardware. Investment in new factories is only worth it if the demand stays high for 10+ years, which simply doesn’t seem to be the case. Most AI companies will collapse in the next few years and while AI in itself will probably survive, the hardware craze will eventually die down a bit.

  • Food should absolutely be a human right, but what you receive should be based on survival needs and sustainability. I don’t mean bread an water but rather a broad selection of staple goods that results in a varied diet with the ability to choose for yourself what you eat. Steak, and most other meat products, shouldn’t be part of the basic selection, they are luxury products without a sustainable way to produce in large enough quantities. The equivalent is that free public transport wouldn’t include flights since that simply isn’t viable at the moment.

Whether luxury goods that slowly kill the planet should be available at all is a different question entirely that can’t be solved in our current geopolitical system. There are ways to address this but it would require a complete global restructuring that goes way beyond what food as a human right would require.

Yes Cognitive decline is well researched and starts way earlier than your 60s, but its also an umbrella term for a lot of things.

Reaction and processing speed goes down starting from your mid 20s, short and long term memory gradually declines in your 30s and your vocabulary decreases from the mid 40s. But the ability for complex judgement that’s important here shouldn’t start declining until your 60s. If you are in your mid 60s and are completely helpless when it comes to technologie that’s been around for 10+ years, you either are in the early stages of a cognitive condition like dementia or you are willfully ignorant cause you can’t be bothered to learn.

There are a few other causes, like excessive lead exposure (which is especially common for Americans) and malnourishment during you development (often the case for developing nations), but at least the former can be classified as a neurological condition.

  • Teams is anything but a basic messaging app. Over the last few years Microshit kept integrating most of their office suit into it instead of keeping their standalone apps working beyond Excel and Word. Now you have chats, teams, calls, calendar, SharePoint, planner, to-do, power BI and a million other things in one place, and only 90% of them don’t work properly.

Besides, the new™ Teams is pretty much just an instance of edge with 10+ tabs open den being on the amount of addins your company has. The entire app is literally just build in edge webview, its a reskinned browser with slightly more privileges.
