There’s also the point that game quality has gone down significantly. If I were to build a new rig which would cost me an arm and a leg, I would still just play games that my current PC can already run anyway. I don’t wanna play the newest CoD-slop or some tech-demo with MTX-shop disguised as a game. The newest games I really enjoyed were Monster Sanctuary (Unity-based monster collector metroidvania-like) and Balatro (no introduction necessary). A toaster can run these.

My “gaming rig” (more like toaster - it’s not good and I am a poor loser) still runs Win7. Last defensible Windows version.

Either Google doesn’t have much information on my interests or their personalized ads suck ass. The only ads I care about are the ones in the pamphlet with this week’s discounts at the local convenience store, I always read those.

Honestly hoping that pension is still a thing once I’m old. If it isn’t a chair and a rope is ok as well.

Luckily, I don’t give a shit about money or the stock market or people that wanna win in the stock market. I sail along in my mediocre life with my mediocre income. As long as I have enough to pay my bills, I’m fine, I don’t aspire to much more anyways.

As I said I might be missing a lot, not being American or an AI user, but yeah aside from who is in charge currently I only see benefit here.

Proton is a big deal for the change. Think back 5 years ago and switching to Linux was much less approachable because you needed to be an enthusiast to get your games running. Nowadays, you just click download on the Linux Steam client and >90% of the time, it’ll just work.

As an avid reader of Asterix comics, I knew this isn’t true and corrected her and said it was the Roman name of Paris. She insisted that it is Liege. Anyway, the next day, she came back to class and said that she looked it up and that I was indeed correct and Lutetia referred to Paris and gave me a chocolate bar and told me to keep reading comics. Good teacher.
