It’s surprisingly a long list.

I’m finding the apologies and the “just refund the game” messaging from the devs becoming a little annoying at this point. I get they’re being transparent and accountable for their fuckups (which is good!), but it would be nice if they just got their shit together and stopped fucking up.

It’s like if I accidentally stepped on your toes, apologized, then I accidentally knocked over your coffee, apologized again, and finally I accidentally broke your mug, and apologized once more. And each time I apologized, I offered you the opportunity to breakup our friendship together.

1. Reddit removed the ability for moderators to shut down subreddits the same way they did in 2023.
2. New Reddit users outnumber Old Reddit users. The new folks never got a taste of the pre-enshittification era, so this is just the norm for them.

The issue is that most people aren’t aware that their data is being sold, or they just don’t care at all. And by 2023, most people on Reddit were using the official app, not 3rd party apps (according to the subreddit stats of the subreddits I used to moderate). So for most people, the 2023 API change wouldn’t have affected them at all. It only would’ve affected older users and some moderators.

What can reddit do in order to create an outrage big enough to make people leave or to boycott the platform?

It would have to be a disruption that would affect:

• most users
• in a very negative manner
• in a very obvious way

Not only do you need to do all 3, you need to do it simultaneously in order for the users to rebel. So Reddit nowadays have chosen to implement negative changes in smaller parts. AKA boiling the frog alive.

Windows 10 systems will not immediately lose all NVIDIA driver updates. The company says supported GeForce hardware will transition to quarterly security updates after October 2026. These releases will include critical security fixes and continue through October 2029.

So it’s not entirely ending yet.

Thank you for the rule change! I had a post deleted previously and there were some pretty helpful advice in there on how to manage my HDD. Any chance you may be able to restore it so I can look at those comments again?

Do you have a USB power bank you can recommend? My external HDD requires a wall plug and I’ve never seen a USB power bank where I could plug my HDD into it.

My /etc/fstab file currently has the following:

UUID=412ea77a-96e1-427c-9f75-2aae2fe0dca1 /mnt/wd ext4 defaults 0 2

If I were to use the mnt-data.mount you’ve suggested, does that mean I need to delete what I already have in /etc/fstab and replace it with what you suggested?
