I wouldn’t call it “Champagne” unless they’re from the Champagne region of France.
Otherwise it’s just pissing out my ass.
I don’t understand men who don’t like Bush.
Both Sixteen Stone and Razorblade Suitcase were phenomenal albums.
I haven’t found one that’s as seamless and easy to setup as PaperWM.
It’s wild that Sweeney would let this happen. He’s been pretty vocally anti-linux in the past. Must be a big enough change to make him consider Linux dollars worth chasing.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Does there exist a STEAMpunk genre? It would be cool.
2·23 days agoIsn’t that everything? Like, in university, doesn’t everything basically fall into Arts or Sciences?
Gnome with paperwm - infinite tiled scrolling has been my goto on the laptop for a while. Its infuriating to use with a mouse, so when i plug i switch to kde.
I feel like if you were going to eat jewellery, you probably aren’t making it very far anyway. It’s only a matter of time before you taste toilet cleaner or something.
Look, I know what everyone says about Evil Blood Cult, but there just aren’t a lot of jumping off points as a young farmer. I’m not buying the Kool-Aid, I’m just trying to get my foot in the door so i can pay off my parents’ loans and buy my own farm. Besides, being ex-Evil Blood Cult is actually quite impressive to future employers. I spend a little bit of time there, then I can leave and spend my time in an organization that reflects my values, maybe even one against Evil Blood Cult.
Lockheed was also at my college’s job fair.
And yeah, I’d take an internship from them even though I hate everything they do, but i gotta pay bills…

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Dual booting was just wasting precious disk space anyway

I was tasked with putting the letters on one of these signs for a few years, and the people who would send me messages had no interest in the actual physical dimensions of said sign so often it would read garbage like this. I’d then start purposely placing unrelated things on the same line, my favorite being: “YOGA.BOWLING LEAGUE SUNDAY 6PM”

That’s basically exactly what happened during the RAM cartel of the early 2000’s. I think one guy went to jail for like 6 months, but other than that, yeah.

14·3 months agoI mean, they’ve been around for 35 years and they do something like 5 billion USD a year in revenue. I think they’re going to be fine.
I don’t necessarily want this iteration of Epic to be fine, but I’m sure they will be
No way! 68% of 120 is 120% of 68, so drop the 100% now i just need to figure out 20% of 68 or do i need 68% of 20 which is really just 6 tens plus 8% so divide 20 by 10, then times 6 which is 12, now we need 8% of 20 which is just 20% of 8 or whichdies
One of the biggest reasons i stick around, is just the slower pace and lack of algorithms. If i check in the morning, there’s a good chance that the same content will be trending in the afternoon or evening so I’m less inclined to scroll.

Technology@lemmy.world•The TV industry finally concedes that the future may not be in 8KEnglish
0·8 months agoTheres a ton of other things I want my TV to do before more pixels.
Actual functional software would be nice, better tracking on high speed shots (in particular sweeping landscapes or reticles in video games) higher frame rates and variable frame rate content, make the actual using of the tv, things like changing inputs or channels faster, oh man so much more.
Anything but more pixels.

I’m pretty sure no person i know notices the artifacts. It’s infuriating, i can even point it out and people just assume that’s what the video looks like.
