I’ve had some websites where I’ve had to go through like 12 of these. Took me about 5 minutes just to access the site it was ridiculous.

Yeah I wish I waited. I loved it in early access and spent hundreds of hours on it. But I’m one the those people who have a hard time replaying things. I quit before a lot of the later releases and now it would feel like a chore to start over and play through long enough to see the final additions and end game content.

I don’t understand people who don’t use credit cards that way. Why would you spend money that you do not have only to end up spending more later on?

I mean, I can see it if you’re broke and lost your job and need to eat so you stretch it as long as you can but that’s not someone in a situation that should be using it to buy video games.

I’ve used OSM and MapQuest and MapQuest feels a lot more usable. It must pull from more than just OSM because if I type addresses I to OSM it often can’t find it whereas I haven’t had that issue with MapQuest yet.

I think every crosswalk should have those retractable bollards.

It’s mind boggling how poorly designed most of these systems are. These are multi-billion dollar corporations and they can’t do a simple thing correctly for the most part when it comes to these systems.

For example, I don’t know why this isn’t the top and foremost thing but a car should NEVER be able to override when the human driver is trying to do. Sure, beep and adjust if veering out of the lane but as soon as any resistance it met by the wheel it should immediately turn off and let the driver do what they want to do.

How do they determine the beginning of a river? Should it be the furthest point of something? Why isn’t the Missouri River the “Mississippi” and the remaining portion of the Mississippi north of that junction the Missouri instead?

They probably don’t care if you use a different service if you don’t log in to use theirs. If you don’t log in they can’t easily monetize you by tracking your data and building a portfolio. Otherwise you use their resources at a cost and they don’t make money.

So threatening to leave for other services isn’t exactly a threat.

Well there are games where I absolutely cannot justify paying for unless there is a sale or waiting for it to go on discount due to being super old.

However I still don’t pirate them just because they are priced too high if they are steam because I know eventually I will still have easy access I just need to be patient.

Cae in point this summer sale a game that came out 2-3 years ago I finally bought because it was 50% off its original $100 price tag (CAD). Finally felt it would be worth it.

Never pirates it became I knew steam would provide easy access and an eventual sale.

I mean, I’m all for replacing physical items as it reduces physical plastic waste.

But it does put the onus on consumers to pay for the storage rather than the manufacturer and prices for digital are not any lower than physical so all it does is save the manufacturer money, not the consumer. If it resulted in a 10% decrease in game prices that would help.

The other issue however is that manufacturers do not guarantee a download will be available forever. If that were guaranteed there wouldn’t be an issue, as digital games often need to be re-installed if a bug or error occurs.
