  • To specifically your point about geysers… I mean I do get it, kind of. We only feel like we need a recording of it because it’s now. If you’d gone 70 years ago you could literally just see it, know you saw it, know it was awesome and cherish the memory. But now we’ve been conditioned to require proof. For ourselves or social media, the outcome is the same. I travel a moderate amount and have seen amazing things. I have a small number of pictures from each trip because I just want to experience the feeling of it. That being said, it is nice to get a photos notie of a past trip and take the memory lane journey. But it never ruins my day when they don’t show up. Ya know?

  • We adopted two kittens many years ago, littermates, a male orange and a female black calico. The boy was full of personality and was playful, would accept affection, etc. the girl warmed up a little to my husband but otherwise won the “don’t give a fuck” war. She had the worst whiney meow in the morning calling for brekkie, and made me insane. We ended up moving states away and couldn’t secure housing that allowed pets so we rehomed both. I miss the boy, still to this day. But her, I do not miss. I hope they had great lives with their new people, they seemed happy to have them.

  • Memory loss/amnesia. It works as a plot device but how often it shows up in media makes it seem like, well that’s what happens when you get bonked on the head. Amnesia is actually pretty rare.

CPR/shocking: I was so grateful that Dr. Robby called this out on The Pitt, you can’t shock asystole (flatline). Well, you can but it’s good for fuck all. I get why CPR is done poorly, if you do it for real you’re probably gonna break ribs. But they could do it as fast as it’s supposed to go at least. The dramatic pushes 3 seconds apart is also good for fuck all.

  • It takes time to become the Hawkeye of any workplace. For me, I feel like I currently am, but it was probably the first 2 of now 5 years of keeping my head down, listening but not contributing to gossip, apologising and correcting “mistakes” that were pointed out, saying yes to extra shifts, etc. But after a while I became someone relied on by all as a truth teller and a solid employee. I sometimes even tell people when explaining my workflow/training, “but I do what I want”. I can always justify my actions even if there is another or zero policy, and my opinion is generally valued. A blessing and a curse, as now the expectations on me are simply higher than for others in similar roles. But, I do what I want.

  • I think the situation from Defending Your Life or Eternity seems pretty neat for an afterlife, but realistically I think that the best we can hope for a “heaven” is living on in good memories from those we leave behind.

Being reincarnated into a well-loved house cat would be pretty dope too.

But ultimately I think our consciousness just stops and we return to the same state we didn’t exist in, before we existed.

  • No one has a broken webcam in 2026. Especially if ahes supposedly a company CEO, like that is a solved-today problem if it was ever true.

Also unless your dad is also loaded, there’s not a ton of incentive for a successful woman in her early forties to start a romance with someone nearly twice her age, I mean that may sound awful but I’m a woman and that’s just pragmatic. A long distance gamble on a set of old balls? If she’s just in to older men, I’m sure there are plenty in a 10 minute vicinity, she doesn’t need to fw men on the other side of the country.

  • I felt so confident moving to Norway from the US because of this very phenomenon. And then someone asked me out loud if I needed a bag (in Norwegian) and I completely froze. Like what? Spoken Norwegian does sound much like how it’s written (once you know the sounds and combos) but like any language, the space between words in writing and spoken aloud are just different. And that difference is the reason I am still on kampbussen 6 years later.
