I was chatting with a bartender about my telescope a while ago, and the woman sitting next to me asked me when my birthday was. I told her the month, and asked why. She said “it sounds like you know a lot about astrology.” I said “oh no, I’m into astronomy,” to which she replied “same thing.”

That is true, said Frog.

Still in favor of replacing “AI” with “a racist pile of linear algebra” across the board.

Trigger Happy TV
Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time.

How exactly are these languages that were around before vibe coding vibe coded?
I’m really trying. I live in the PNW and love weird shit, but I’ve never been able to stick with Twin Peaks more than a few episodes, and recently had a hard time getting through Blue Velvet, so I think David Lynch just isn’t for me.

It’s an annoying and spammy way to get your content downvoted/blocked when it could have been noticed.
It’s definitely worth practicing, and the earlier you do it in an interaction the easier. If I’m chatting with someone for more than a minute or two, or we talk about something more interesting than casual small talk, I’ll just extend my hand and say “I’m <name> by the way.” It’s never resulted in anything other than them shaking my hand and telling me their name.
I’ve made a lot of friends just being “out” somewhat regularly. I have a few favorite bars/breweries in the area that I’ll just bring my book to and hang out reading at the bar. Even doing a solitary activity in public ends up getting me into conversations, usually with people who share similar interests.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I always wondered why all my prescription bottles were so much larger than they needed to be.

Yeah, that’s a good one.

They sell this stuff at the Kroger deli and I’ve always been curious. This thread has made me less curious.
I’d do anything for a full 8 hours of sleep except go to bed early enough to get a full 8 hours of sleep.

Oh interesting, thanks. I live here and can’t imagine the space for a data center within the Seattle metro!

I appreciate the sentiment, but who’s building an AI data center in Seattle?
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
