A few I’ve acquired over the years.

Okay, a simple ‘wrong’ would have done just fine…

Unlike Reddit where you can lurk because there’s so much noise already, it’s quieter here and you get out of it what you put into it. If someone is an ass, block them; you don’t owe them anything.
Lemmy is the most well known, but there’s also piefed and mbin (I’m on piefed) and they all interact with each other (or we couldn’t be talking). Maybe check them out and see if you like one of the others better.
Karma never mattered, but doubly so here.

I know at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter, but it always rubbed me the wrong way when Europeans claim that The Americas are one continent because it’s one connected landmass, but somehow Europe is it’s own continent. North/South America at least came from different super continents and only recently collided. Europe (minus the Balkans) and Asia (minus Arabian and Indian peninsulas) have been together since at least Pangaea.

Really? You know the Waterman? Have you seen the 1909 Cahill map it’s based…

Isn’t Africa connected to Eurasia? So we have the Americas and AfroEurasia plus some islands. Which is why “continents” has no meaning and is another social construct unless you divide them in a way that makes zero sense to anyone who isn’t a geologist.

Yeah, I get that. And it’s not so much that these features are important, so much as I just forget to participate. 😅

It’s not a knock-off, it’s an intentional misdirect. President Grover Cleveland and Congress wanted a workers’ holiday that wasn’t associated with the radical, socialist-flavoured May Day, so they went with the safer, domesticated Knights of Labor version instead.

Oof, I used to be better. I didn’t realise it was timed, and and number of them I knew but couldn’t spell.

Maybe it was just the server I tried, but I could never get it to work. Or maybe I configured it wrong 🤷🏼♂️
How’s mobile support?

How many digits is your id?

My problem with irc was not remembering to connect and it not being persistent, so when I did show up it’d be empty unless it just happened to be in the middle of others talking. But I did want to get into it.

I only just started dabbling in Bluesky. I like that your username is federated, which meant I’m using Bluesky without a Bluesky account, since I signed up elsewhere first.
It’s definitely a lot more popular than Masto, et al, which isn’t always a good thing. Sure there’s all the famous people, but it makes it harder to find real people to follow. Or at least for me.
I have enjoyed the For You tab though.

One of my favourite f-droid apps is droid-ify, which markets itself as a clutter-free f-droid client. So, I use that instead of f-droid itself.

Upvote for Magritte reference.
Hygge became too popular so that’s started making it’s way into English. Hopefully that one sticks around. The pronunciation will never be correct though. Nisse sounds awesome though.
