This doesn’t hold up. For you, personally, sure. But EVERYONE couldn’t convert to dumpster diving. That’s just shitty supermarkets.

I had this revelation about buying local. If EVERYONE “bought local”, local farms begin looking like factory farms in order to produce enough for the local population. I’m certain there would be additional inefficiencies (moral atrocities) as a result. It’s more ethical for me, personally, to get my produce locally, but I can’t in good faith criticize anyone else that buys groceries on Amazon.

There’s no ethical consumption under capitalism.

No power. A microburst hit the town and did hurricane-level damage. Trees down everywhere, and now even some of those still standing are a worry.

I definitely never said it was fine… The sad fact is that anyone with any public-facing job gets hate messages and threats all the time. It’s insane, but you have to weigh a message like this against the baseline and make a judgement for yourself. In the majority of cases, blocking this person solves the issue.

The worst thing to do is post about it publicly, because now they know they can contact you. Reach out to people you trust privately, and if you post publicly keep it vague/anonymized.

Even if the person that sent the message was 100% serious… Is this any sort of threat to you? The Hallucinations Machine said we should be together and my actual real life situation and choices are less valid than that? The person that sent this message was either being unserious or is so detached from social etiquette they’re basically a child.

Yeah, indie music, gamers, goths, vegans, movies, martial arts, queer subcultures… There’s a lot of things to latch on to and think “this movie was made for me”

Have to disagree. The movie is awesome, lots of lines to quote, lots of visual gags. It (and the comic) were formative for me and it’s one of the few movies that I feel really understands the millennial gamer nerd culture. And of course the music is great, but I couldn’t agree with better.

Yelling Bird is a staple of filler comics for Questionable Content. It’s generally ornery. This was a guest comic about two single characters being playful together, the depicted panel was the punchline.

Look, be clean and don’t smell like sweat. But it’s not always a good idea to go crazy with cologne either. I’ve had one person tell me that my natural scent was extremely attractive.

As always, it’s entirely dependent on you and who you’re trying to impress.
