Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever spent Christmas alone? Why and how was it?
1·17 days agoSo far, no. But that day may be coming
2 k a month is barely above minimum wage. That’s 24k a year. That’s garbage pay. (I’m answering from the point of view off where someone is earning that money in a job).
Having someone give you that is a nice chunk of money. But it gives you an idea of what it actually is worth.
Btw I’m answering as someone in a community of 114,000+ people. We have 4 towns that are shoved together. In this area that money is barely above minimum wage income.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are you or do you live in a country where organized crime exists?
16·19 days agoOrganized crime is in basically every single country in the world
Yes but to have them hold it up to the door means you had to go to the door. Which by definition means you answered
Just because you answered the door doesn’t mean you opened the door.
If you don’t answer the door how would you know if they have a warrant?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You can broadcast one message to the entire world. What do you say?
3·25 days agothe world will end in … days
just make it sound like the audio cut out for the number of days

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think being poor in 2026 and later is a form of resistance?
5·25 days agobasically it is correct in the U.S.
the line where they stop helping you is low and the line where you can actually make it on your own is above that. so they stop helping you but you have a very difficult time to get to the point where you can actually survive. so you wind up back on social welfare programs (or homeless). the system is broken in the aspect. has been for as long as i’ve been alive (born in the 70’s) .
they need to use a scale and use that scale to help you move out of the welfare programs. so the more you make the less you get, but it isn’t a hard cut off point. and the program needs to have incentives to help you get training to get a job so you don’t need the help.
not very many people want to live on social welfare, they want to fend for themselves but the system is broken in a way that traps people.
as for it being a form of resistance. that i’m not sure what you mean by that. do you mean a form of the people resisting against the government? then no it isn’t a form of resistance.
That’s risky for so many reasons. They could either kidnap you. Or they could have some seriously contagious diseases. Without the ability to properly vet them I wouldn’t go.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you agree with this view: Why do you think societies should allow billionaires to exist? How does that benefit the common good?
1·3 months agoI don’t care whether or not billionaires do or don’t exist. As long as the people that they hire get paid a living wage so that at some point, they can retire. I don’t care how much a billionaire has.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is it common after a breakup to lose every mutual friend you had?
10·3 months agoWhat can you do? Hypothetically you take each one of them aside and you force them to tell you what she’s been saying about you. And then somehow demonstrate that she is lying.
Now that’s hypothetically.
Realistically, there’s no way that they will want to change their mind anyway. Unless you have some really solid proof that you didn’t do it. And ans anybody can tell you , trying to prove a negative is almost impossible.
So that means realistically, there is really nothing you can do about it. I mean, you can catch a couple of them when they’re alone. And try to find out what She said. But if they’ve already bought into the bullshit from her then what do you do?. I don’t really see a way back from that.
By the way, I’m going on the basis of she’s lying and that she falsely accused you. As I only have your comment in the other post where you said she falsely accused. I have no way to know what did or did not happen. I’m just giving you information based on what I have. All I can say is good luck and try to move forward. Only you would know if you’d be able to approach those people and have a chance of sitting down and making them listen.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is it common after a breakup to lose every mutual friend you had?
10·3 months agoReread the comment it says he was falsely accused. Please demonstrate where it says he did it. Just because somebody’s accused of something doesn’t mean they’re automatically guilty.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is it common after a breakup to lose every mutual friend you had?
24·3 months agoBeing accused of something is fully different than actually having done it. Just because somebody accuses you of something doesn’t mean it’s automatic that you are guilty. In the comment that was linked, he literally said somebody falsely accused him. So I have to ask you how do you know that he’s actually guilty?

some good options already posted:
the pyramids being built
the big bang
to that i’ll add:
watching a t-rex and seeing what that thing actually looked like and how it hunted (this one is kind of stretching the rules a bit)
Jesus Christ when he was alive in his prime years. I want to see him turn water into wine. This would answer if he was actually real and if he really did that. (spoiler I believe he did but it would be interesting to see).
I would love to see the building of Machu Picchu
This is all assuming that I am able to view without affecting history in any way shape or form and am able to survive the experience (with my sanity intact)
