Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Everyone should like at least one polarizing thing.
2·10 days agoI don’t think a lifetime of listening would pay for a car via Spotify.
I still use it for convenience sake, but if I wanna support artists I’ll go see a show or buy a record…

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Sock/shoe then sock/shoe, or sock/sock then shoe/shoe? Explain yourself.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Going opposite directions at night, what should men do if approaching a woman?
26·25 days agoFor me an up nod is a greeting towards somebody I know, or at least have seen before.
And a down nod is an respectful acknowledgement towards a stranger.
Idk if anyone else reads them that way though…
Sound pretty similar to some periods of my life :D
They often make me feel stuff that I have a complicated relationship with.
I don’t feel comfy sharing more details with (potentially) the whole internet, too personal, but you can DM me if you wanna know more…
I like the mama posts…
Although they’re a little confusing sometimes.
That sounds pretty cool tbh, sometimes I’m still a little bummed that the American Dream™ can’t be a sustainable thing for everyone…
It is time for penguin.
If you are hesitant, try it on an old machine first. (If you have one)
The limits of the curve are a high stress situation for the chemistry inside, I’m not exactly sure about the mechanism, so take it with a few grains of salt.
Essentially there’s some growths (I think they’re called dendrites) forming slowly, all the time the battery is flowing charge. But it happens more quickly under adverse conditions, like the extreme ends of the voltage/charge spectrum…

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Being pushed into waist deep, still water sounds so deadly, I'm shaking in my boots /s
2·2 months agoThe fall down can be pretty high, so maybe the low height of the water is the killer after all.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•city planners must reserve enough space for streets - not for lanes, but for other things
2·3 months agoStreet parking is pretty preventable probably, but currently my city rather makes money off of it. But Germany is still pretty far from ridding itself of urban car use…

3·3 months agoBlocking half a street might be okay, but the other half should remain free. Just so emergency services have access. And probably also thrash and other stuff…
Getting rid of all the benches won’t make the homeless disappear, obviously. They’ll just sleep on the floor instead. So this trend is just the culling of homeless people, but with extra steps, and plausible deniability.
Yeah its read only, but I don’t have to edit the calendars I’m subscribed to, so it works for me.
But it would be mildly annoying if I had to edit stuff in those. I’m not sure how that would work in the first place. In my case Microsoft would have to have some sort of API, even if its just CALDav, so Nextcloud could submit the changes you make. Does Microsoft even allow for something like that?
I’ve gotten the calendar to subscribe to external calendars. One work related Microsoft calendar, and one for holidays.
Often there’s people (esp. groups) who can’t be bothered with “reasonable”.
I’ve probably been guilty of that in the past…
If they’re made from fabric they’re pretty repairable though.

Romance could def be like this, but also takes on a lot of other forms.
Really differs from person to person, and mood aswell ofc…
