I’m with you, but the sad reality is that, unlike Wine devs, AI devs can’t be assumed to act in good faith.
Potential Wine devs who have seen Windows source code will self enforce the rules, because they care about their integrity and the integrity of the project.
AI devs already don’t have an integrity, and they feel smug and superior for actively trying to fool any sort of measure against AI. They also seem to believe AI is the future and isn’t going away, so why bother regulating it if it won’t matter soon.
We need to come up with stricter and more effective ways to regulate and ban AI use, and that’s gonna be the difference between an unusable codebase and a great one in a few years.
I usually receive around 250-400 emails per day. Most of those are from automated systems, tho some of the automated emails still need to be checked out just in case.
“Only” around 100 of the emails I receive in a day are from humans. That still makes it 500 human emails per week.

Not actually, it depends on the projection.
The most noticeable visual distortion of a map projection at street level isn’t actually size and area, but angle. While Mercator and Web Mercator distort both size and area, angle remains the same. But projections like Equal Earth distort angle to keep area and size the same.
In practice, what this means is that with Web Mercator, you will see an intersection as 2 perpendicular lines crossing each other, leaving four 90° angles. But with Equal Earth, depending on the location, all those angles will be different, and the lines won’t be perfectly perpendicular.
(of course, Web Mercator also has this issue, because it uses a perfect sphere instead of a spheroid for the projection, but the very slight difference isn’t really noticeable, and using a spheroid is more compute-heavy)
Map navigation and satellite imagery are very specific cases where a Mercator or Mercator style projection are better suited, mainly because of the preservation of the angles. However, for any other case, Equal Earth is a very good projection, and I agree it should be used over Mercator. Especially in education.
Web Mercator is a special kind of abomination, even down to the way the map is cropped to be exactly square. But it is probably the most suitable for navigation, as Mercator itself was designed specifically for it.
Buildings, streets and map features would be more distorted under Equal Earth projection than they already are with Web Mercator. Web Mercator also has the benefit that the cardinal directions are always straight respective to the XY grid, even though the Y direction is non linear.
There is no perfect way of flattening a 3D spheroid into a 2D map, sadly.

Had the same experience with exactly the same mod. In my case, I was also banned from !europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com , which is also modded by that person. I noticed months after the ban, when I couldn’t post to that community.
That was the only ban I tried to appeal, cuz that was the only non AI community. To be fair, the mod unbanned me from there.
I used Kagi a bit before reading that article, and it was definitely better than Google (tho, at this point, it’s a low bar).
I have found Qwant to be equally good. But beware, it also has AI stuff. I really wish there was a real no-nonsense search engine without any AI in it, that just worked.
Their leadership, business model and finances are sketchy, and the AI stuff being opt-in is a byproduct of their marketing. They are an AI company, and their product is an AI. Kagi Search was just a stepping stone to reach their goal.

Keep in mind that, on the road, it’s not just your own safety you need to ensure. An accident can also harm other people, so the more reason to prevent them.
I never had an issue with a GTX 1660 Ti on Arch. It’s been 5 years.
Older cards (in my case, the 970 M iirc) are slightly more annoying because Nvidia doesn’t support them anymore. So you can’t just install the generic, up to date, Nvidia driver package. You have to use Nvidia’s website to find the latest driver that supported them, and then install that one through your distro’s package manager.
Afaik, Nvidia supports all cards from the 16xx series upwards in their driver, as of right now.
I know the ingested content gets filtered, to discard probably poisoned content. I don’t know the granularity of the filter, but maybe you can do one real paragraph, one markov chain bs paragraph, repeat. That way, the data will probably seem low quality or poisoned to the filter, if it doesn’t treat each paragraph separately.
Idk, it costs me 3€ to get a 250g pack of ground coffee. 5€ to get a 250g pack of sustainable zapatista coffee. I can make many cups with a single pack. And yet, the price for a single espresso is usually 3€ or more in my area.
Of course the beans are always getting more expensive, but it’s still nowhere close to that price.

It’s all BS. A company cares only about money, and they couldn’t care less about your product performing slightly less than optimally, if it ever does. Apple did it for profit, car manufacturers did it for profit, John Deere did it for profit and Raspberry Pi did it for profit.
