Basic knowledge is similar to common knowledge and someone once said: “Common knowledge is not as common as you might think”.

IANAL but from my naive perspective it might make more sense to not disclose this because no one can prove that something was written by AI if no one discloses it. That means for me that any claims that a certain part cannot be copyrighted are hard or even impossible to make.

Not only the contributor has to understand code. There have always been flyby contributers that just add their code and that’s it. So if a PR adds code that cannot be maintained by others it can’t be added. That is part of the review process. That is part of evaluating based on quality. It’s unimportant if a human or an llm wrote something unmaintainable.

Well what would the disclosure requirement improve? It’s unenforceable and it just gets in the way of evaluating the code based on quality. Every code should have high standards. Bad llm code is just as bad as bad human code.

If a project allows llm contributions then disclosing it will only make people wary of the wrong things. Putting a badge on it is not helpful anymore if it’s allowed. I have seen good llm code and bad human code.

AFAIK there is a proposal to make that browser option a reality. There was a setting once but edge made it default on and then everyone was like “well then we gonna ignore it”.

The thing is that most of the consent forms are not compliant. The choice should be Consent and don’t consent in equal style and then additionally a choice. Every form that forces you through a secondary screen is not really compliant.

The problem is that we have an enforcement gap. The rules get enforced by each country and they have limited resources for that. It’s an imperfect system.

I will consider them when they make an OS instead of an ad and spyware platform. Until then I am happy on Linux.

My experience: do something you like that involves other people. My two things where dancing and karaoke. If you are well groomed and open you have good chances to meet someone. My best experiences were when I just chattet with people.

Remember: 30 chest compressions to the beat of staying alive and then 2 breaths for resuscitation in repeat. Start this as soon as you find someone unconscious and not breathing. Pumping the heart as soon as possible is key.

Defibrillators. They don’t start a heart that is stopped. They stop arrhytmias and give the body a chance to return to a normal rhythm.

I now have to think about canceling my non existent subscription. What a headache.
