I’m not opposed to package managers. If anything I want them to be easier to work with, particularly when it comes to keeping mulriple versions of a peice of software. Just tryna understand what ELF lacks and what can be done about it.

I should preface this by saying i never used xcancel and assumed it was one of those sites that let you browse twitter without communicating directly with their servers. Sorry for wasting your time if that’s entirely off base.

Instead of a single website, build an application where users can scrape and share posts/profiles/feeds with each other. You can minimize load on a given user by distributing requests to all users who have the content and are willing to share. That way, it’s harder for them to break whatever you’re reading twitter for since they have to go after more people who may not even be in a jurisdiction their lawyers can influence. Like torrenting, but for social media instead of … linux distributions.

Weird situation. Naively, i get why someone as short sighted as musk would do this, but I don’t get why people who hate him enough to use this platform are willing to substantiate potential demand like this. Maybe it’s time to go peer to peer?

Libre office isn’t a text editor it’s a document processor; more like a gui for something like TeX, or realisticially html, than a program for reading/editing plain text.

I actually don’t have to do that at all. It’d be one thing if i, or anyone else in this thread, were saying that the problem with derivative works is that they aren’t originals, but that’s not the point at all.

I’d recommend a glibc edition of Void. Dev tools and libraries aregenerally up to date; there are exceptions like some zig related stuff but you can generally work around such issues with anyzig. Also has a framework for custom builds via xbps-src in the package repo. Packagw management is very easy via xbps, and purging obsolete packages is trivial.
