Fonts changing to red is sort of weird. I would think that system fonts might be reset in the case I was talking about. What is much more worrying than that is the USB fuckery. Could still be something completely innocuous. Maybe open a Github issue?

I mean fonts can change due to updates. Let’s say I update KDE, I might break my theming completely.
I’m sorry, I misread. I thought you wrote to not use Qubes. Do you have any sources regarding the stuff about Fedora? I don’t mean to deboonk you, I am genuinely curious and I dislike fedora anyway for being so commercially oriented.
You know you can build Qubes from source right? You know you have checksums? Do you know how difficult it is to compromise something like fucking Qubes, thee OS built by people who spend upwards of 12 hours a day obsessing about cyber security? There are too many eyes on it. It’s like saying Emacs is compromised.
I am shitting on Hyprland because DHH, who is responsible for the mess that is Omarchy, is in bed with Vaxry and they both enable each other. I did not say that Hyprland has any vulnerabilities. I said that people who have a hard on for aesthetics do so because they are compensating for a lack of substance most often. I was specifically referring to this privilidge escalation fuck up.
and i dont think hyprland is here like “the thing” that will attract users.
Well, the attempt is made for it to be part of just that. See Omarchy.
it’s for power users.
Almost all programs that implement some sort of GUI the way XFCE or dwm does are for power users, it’s called being on Linux. The exception here is maybe the latest GNOME release. Hyprland is also for the r/UNIXPORN crowd.
Future of Linux my ass. I want something that works.
This guy is complete trash. Does excessive coding rip holes into people’s brains?
That’s fucking delicious. I am so not surprised that people who focus only on aesthetics (by that I mean those behind omarchy and hyprland) would fuck up the most basic things where substance has any importance. Aesthetics is for idiots! I will never want the Linux desktop to take over because of coolness, I want the software that attacks important questions to take over. These reactionaries have proven themselves to be utterly incompetent once again, and they will continue to prove their incompetence because they all lack insight and think of themselves as being god’s chosen ones.

I honestly don’t understand how Hyprland, which will always be niche if there are no fundamental additions made to it, is getting a ton of money while Asahi is still stuck at Apple M 2 chips.

11·20 days agoLook, all developed countries, with only a few exceptions, experience declining fertility. This lack is partially made up for up by immigration. However it’s not occurring at a rate that creates strain on the systems you have mentioned. Numbers are indeed still declining, albeit slowly.
This leaves us with a very different sort of structural change. If target countries are not bursting at their seams – which I would argue is ostensible, then why is there a supply-side issue in regards to basic services? Could it be that, for example, deskilling and austerity measures have something to do with this? I leave it up for you to determine cause and effect.

31·20 days agoThis is a non-sequitur. Israel is a colonial project forced upon the Levant by Britain and the US. The places crying most about immigration have historically been the most egregious colonisers. Man made climate change is scientifically well-established, the concept of human races along with the idea that some groups of h. sapiens are by virtue of geographical origin deleterious to another, are both misconceptions.
Scientists don’t oppose climate change because it goes against a state of nature, they oppose it because it very concretely threatens livelihoods, which can not be said about immigration.

This is not true. Not everyone is a cynic.

There are many ways you can get viruses, it might be because you added a less than good repo or for who knows what reason. Still not excluding errors on the part of fedora. Sucks though in any case.
You could just back up important data and do a fresh install, right? I would just put the stuff right back (as always: I guess do as I say not as I do) and go about my life, if you are paranoid you can wait a few months for security updates and or use virtualisation.
