well, that’s just for spying. I still think ww2 was worse, when they would feed dogs under tanks, so that when deployed in the battlefield, the dogs with explosives strapped would get under enemy tanks and boom
browsers offload inactive tabs from memory anyway, unless you’re actively switching among 15+ tabs, they won’t be using as much ram
fuck; I’m so used to dark patterns like these that whenever I read “cookie” my instincts flip and look for the less noticeable / most hidden buttons instead. It took me a few seconds to even realize this was a dark pattern.
Other common ones to be on the lookout:

the corridor crew has a video on this and they mention the hydraulic press experiment @9:40 and added some cool visuals

~375’000 bricks ~ 3.6km
And in the end, they show a pyramid around that height (4x higher than Burj Khalifa, just smaller than the mount Fuji) and how much it would cost, which is completely unrealistic at that point, as it’d use up all the oil in the world.

yes, I get that and it’s a bad default, but not RCE like the post says

That does not allow remote code execution. An attacker still needs a vector like an SSH session to be able to control kitty. And at that point, if they already have a shell session, they don’t need kitty to do damage.
edit: giving access to other programs is not remote execution, but obviously not a good default.

You might be a few years behind. We have robots outpacing human performance in specific tasks using neural networks.
Also, LLMs can perform on tasks they weren’t explicitly trained for. This line is not as well defined as you make it sound.

systemctl list-unit-files --state=enabled to check everything enabled that you might want to disable
as for running as root, AFAIK all systemd services run as root, unless they’re defined at the user-level; but IME setting services at the user level usually means a more involved setup to make sure PATH and env vars are correct.

oh that’s actually a thing, neat
They don’t need to teach “windows” or “excel”. Working with an “operating system” and a “spreadsheet” is the real value. One can quickly pick up any equivalent technogy as they need to. There’s no good reason to stick to the company that happens to have a monopoly at the time. In fact, it’s better for society that they don’t.
As for photoshop or any media editing program, I’ve never learned that in school anyway. That was just not a thing in any school around where I grew up. Maybe I missed out, but I’d say that elementary and high school curriculums are already pretty busy to focus too much on that kind of work. IME teenagers usually get into that kind of software at their own time and interest. I was into video editing and 3d modeling, but that was never in the curriculum, nor would i advocate for it to be.
it’s safer to run it as a regular user and have topgrade ask for root access. With this config line it can ask ahead when starting, so you don’t need to babysit it:
[misc]
# ...
# Run `sudo -v` to cache credentials at the start of the run; this avoids a
# blocking password prompt in the middle of a possibly-unattended run.
pre_sudo = true
Underrated. We usually have a lot more to upgrade than just the main distro’s package manager.

I think they prefer to use the first letter of a different syllable. Mendelevium was once Mv, but never Me, it seems.

I thought at first, but that Mg turned into M and the numbers making some sense tell me this is lazy human work

explanation: the elements in the “Breaking Bad” logo are not the ones in the mug:

Also, A and M are not elements in the periodic table. It seems “M” has the mass of Mg, and even the space for the g, but it was lazily erased. And it’s a bit blurry, but I think “A” was supposed to be Al, with mass of 26.98. The worse part is that Albuquerque would be perfectly valid, but they had to fumble this completely.

I’m sure there will be an accessibility option if that’s the case, because my RSI won’t let me play it for over an hour otherwise

There are 10 11 leaked videos so far, the daylight plane is the best IMO, but yeah, it’s a bit underwhelming but it was inevitable given all the hype created over the years. In the end it’s just another GTA.
