  • I genuinely don’t think I actually learnt anything in school.

I was an avid reader so I always new about this stuff before they brought it up in class, plus they taught me a bunch of stuff that subsequently turned out to be false. Like the obvious lie that the tongue has regions on it.

The only interesting thing we did at school was when my science teacher blew up the classroom.

  • I use it rewrite work emails, that way I don’t have to put any thought into formatting or punctuation it’s just a stream of consciousness that then translates into a proper formatted email. But that is pretty much it.

If my private life I don’t use AI for anything, not because I have a particular hatred of AI, I just don’t have anything that can think that it could be used for.

If the technology suddenly became unavailable, I’d be absolutely fine. I don’t think it’s a good idea to become too reliant on AI anyway, it leaves you vulnerable to price gouging. I like to keep all my thinking inside my own brain where it’s free.

  • I think I’m an optimist because I think that eventually the various companies are going to have to start turning a profit, and I just don’t see it happening. When the investment money runs out there’s going to be a huge crash. Frivolous pointless stuff like this will drop by the wayside.

What will be left is the useful applications of AI like scientific research and the automation of simple, but non-deterministic tasks that couldn’t previously be automated via a script, such as organising logistical supply chains. But AI isn’t going to replace human labour until they move away from LLM chat bots, and even then it’s just a possibility not an inevitability.

  • There isn’t really any appetite for him to resign. The whole point of him going was for Burnham to become prime minister, they literally don’t have anyone else left, he is all they’ve got, which I suppose is better than the Tories who’ve got no one, the absolute best that they could put up would be Jimmy Dimly, and that’s scraping the barrel.
