And I know, the actual problem solution probably has wider ranging consequences than just earning those 1 million, but still this is such a nice analogy for AI. Wasting so much more on a win than you need.

3·12 days agoI do not think that doing the right thing is difficult, is the customers problem here. The companies could have also just not given those costs forward to the customer, but they were very happy to do so, because, well… money.

But the squares that are supposed to be a cm and the ruler below it are printed on the same page, they scale together.
At least it looks like a printed ruler to me.
