Why can’t the same be said about a farm? The only value in a crater of this sort is spectacle and maybe it is interesting from a geological history standpoint. But every piece of land must have its own geological history and I love seeing farms. So what does that mean for land ownership? I personally find the arrogance of man to be interesting and weird at the same time. “Look, we carved up the place that created us and decided we’ll trade them.” It’s simultaneously very animalistic like how big cats have territories and also uniquely awfully engineered just for mankind.

I mean, someone has to own it. The community? But who in the community? An organization? The local government? Then, what if they charge money? This kinda situation is unavoidable. I’m not saying it should be abolished, I just find it interesting.

Exactly… I’ve been following their development for a while and just can’t see myself using the stock software on that device. That said, I have to appreciate Xteink regardless because they ship unlocked devices and their default software also doesn’t have any kind of forced login, unlike Kobo and Kindle. I might make an ereader in the future though, would be nice

I have a Kobo Clara 2E with me and use KOReader on it as well. I have an Xteink X4 Pro and an X3 coming. Planning to flash Crosspoint, a community firmware, the second I get it in my hands. Should be a nice setup hopefully.

Yeah, perfect analogy. No amount of external helper tools making installs from GitHub easier would change the security implications. (Cargo-binstall is an example of such a helper.)

I have a BenQ EW270Q. I’m experiencing a really odd issue. I’m able to control the display’s brightness from GNOME’s quick settings, but only with HDR enabled. When I disable HDR, the controls disappear. Any idea why this could be?
