Maybe what you call “basic functionality” isn’t as “basic” to implement in code. Or maybe there aren’t that many people that consider those functionalities “basic” (me for example).

All in all the hate towards wayland just does more harm than good and people limited on complaining and hating maybe should consider ways of actually improving it.

I feel like most of us who got into linux in that era got to truly know it that way - tinkering with it, breaking things and figuring them out by ourselves. In my particular case we didn’t had internet at home until late 2008 so even “simple” things like updating stuff was a real pain in the ass, though the ubuntu cds were salvation.

Have had a small cheap wacom bamboo for more than 10 years. Not only the device works great in itself and it’s quite sturdy but its support on Linux has always been stellar. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever.

This surely has more to do with upstream Qt, but I wish they can give way to people make things for KDE with Rust/Zig/C3/Whathaveyounow. Like, you know, besides the C++/QML combo (and the PyQt bindings thing).

That and overlooked apps like Falkon that have so much potential but could get some more love.
