This isn’t really accurate - “AI” is a somewhat meaningless term that just means machine learning, basically. Also LLMs are deterministic, but usually use a ‘temperature’ setting to add randomness. And any self-driving system is probably enough of a chaotic system so that sensor noise is enough to make it non-deterministic.
That being said, I don’t think LLMs belong anywhere near a car.

The issue with snaps is that they are proprietary, and are less space efficient and probably a bit slower. If that doesn’t bother her than it’s fine. You could also choose to use flatpak (also containerized like snaps) or just use apt (from the terminal or a gui)
Also OnlyOffice might be a better option for MS compatibility. You could also just run a VM if you need to.
Fair enough, but we we can learn from the past and limit the harm that mismanagement can even do. For example, Chernobyl had so many preventable things go wrong, and even then it all had to happen at once. So much of that has been addressed on a structural level and with better training and procedures, not to mention that there are modern reactor designs that fail safe and won’t meltdown at all.
If you look the death rate from nuclear per energy generated, it’s suuuper low, like lower than most renewables. Also most nuclear disasters come from very old reactor technology, and bad decisions / mismanagement.
This is a good point. While I still think it would be smart to invest more in nuclear, the future is solar and that’s a good thing.
I don’t understand the obsession with range. I agree that efficiency is important, but who is regularly driving a pickup truck 200 miles in a day?
