PC Master Race@lemmy.world•Microsoft said it would cut Windows 11 ads, then put a Harry Potter ad on your desktop if you use Bing WallpaperEnglish
3·8 days agoNot exactly related, but if you use Windows without activation you cannot change wallpaper and it stays on Bing rotation. That makes perfect sense now.
Could be both if from Balkans.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Noctalia 5 Wayland Desktop Shell Is Now Officially Stable
5·12 days agoIIRC both Noctalia v4 and DMS are quickshell based, probably that’s why they look similar. Noctalia v5 has its own thing. v5 is not as customizable as v4 at the moment but it will get there, worth looking for.
A little anecdot from my Thinkpad X201, both v4 and v5 are heavy for it, though v5 supposedly have better performance, however still slow in my opinion. Both fine on my main PC. Color generation is also nice by the way, saved me from mingling with Kvantum, Qt, GTK themes etc. Also generates terminal themes, even has a separate theme for btop.

PC Master Race@lemmy.world•Report: Nexon in Talks With Blizzard to Secure Development Rights for StarCraft 3English
2·13 days agoThe story ended with LotV and ended well. I already hate third games that changed developers and there are many examples for this (Baldur’s Gate 3 is quite a rare exception here). Also it will probably be worse than Stormgate so, no thanks.
Thanks for the explanation. I think I regret asking about this now. This is just mental.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•WARDOGS community manager states that Linux/Proton will not be supported during the upcoming Beta test.English
2·14 days agoI mean, yeah, Proton does have EasyAntiCheat Runtime but I wondered because it says kernel level anti-cheat. Though I know a couple games that run fine on Linux even though their Steam page states kernel level anti-cheat, so maybe that’s not a problem at all. But I guess we have rights to have suspicions.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does anyone else find 'pseudoanimation' annoying?
4·15 days agoIt’s fine in visual novels, but only in visual novels.

Eh, it’s fine. That’s what I do with 4 GB RAM as well. However even though I set 8 GB swap on that machine I noticed it’s hardly using the half of it at most. (Using Void Linux)
