I guess Zionism is a bold innovation in video game storytelling now.

Edit: putting this here because I know you goddamn morons arent gonna read two comments down:

    https://www.reversecanarymission.org/person/neil-druckmann

    https://www.vice.com/en/article/the-not-so-hidden-israeli-politics-of-the-last-of-us-part-ii/

    https://time.com/7275781/the-last-of-us-controversy-israel-gaza/

This isn’t even a controversial association, you people have to fucking grow up.

“Druckmann has openly stated that the themes of revenge and cyclical violence in The Last of Us Part II stem from his reaction to the 2000 Ramallah lynching of two Israeli soldiers, where footage of the event filled him with “intense hatred” and a desire to “kill all these people that committed this horrible act” and “make them feel the same pain.” He later reflected on feeling “gross and guilty” for these impulses, but used them as the foundation for the game’s narrative. Druckmann also draws parallels to Israeli politics, citing the 2011 exchange of over 1,000 Palestinian prisoners for captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, noting how his father viewed the deal as harmful to Israel overall but would release every prisoner to save his own son. These inspirations manifest in The Last of Us Part II’s portrayal of warring factions: the secular, militarized Washington Liberation Front (WLF), equipped with advanced weaponry and resources, mirrors the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) as a “brutal but well-intended” military, while the Seraphites, a religious cult engaging in ritual disembowelment and fanaticism, dehumanizes Palestinians as an extremist threat akin to Hamas.”

  • Dude would you shut the fuck up about privilege? I know for an absolute fact that not being privileged doesn’t make you any more likely to be cruel or any less able to fucking learn the actual morality behind your actions.

I did not fucking say anything close to that. I’ve told people like you, fuckin men, that they actually have to work at addressing why they did something bad and actually change their values, not just fucking say that it was bad and they don’t do bad things now and think that’s the end of it. That so many of you have read this as “there’s no hope for change,” is exactly my fucking point, and it isn’t for you dickheads it’s for the dozens of other people I’ve seen come across this thread. You have any idea how much harm men like you cause? Shut the fuck up about having a hard life and how sorry you are just fucking do the values if you’ve addressed them so effectively.

You didn’t today, and you don’t get to decide when other people should be fine with your behaviour, which is another reason you have to take accountability for it, not just guilt. I’m also correctly picking out these abuser flags, whether you like it or not. You said some bigoted shit and then followed that up by openly admitting that you don’t think incels are really all that bad, only just as bad as this weirdy this post is about; its a fucking genocidal cult that has successfully propagated a distinct form of scotastic terrorism and is responsible for hundreds of mass murders.

Shut the absolute fuck up dude, you are a piece of shit, not for the shit from your past, but because of your refusal to address the way you understand things today. If you really got it, understood what you did wrong, you’d have made it clear above that you seriously devalued women and disabled people today, but you didn’t, did you? No, you just tried to act like you were a more level headed and moral person already. When that didn’t work and you didn’t like how I was telling other people about you, you send this shit like you’re doing something. Go look up what abusers do after gaslighting fails.

I’m being serious when I say I see you dude, you’re not a complicated person, and I know that sucks because you really thought that made your actions more justifiable, didn’t it?

Edit: a very fun read indeed: https://www.domesticshelters.org/articles/lists/18-things-abusers-do-when-they-re-gaslighting

  • I honestly haven’t seen evidence of that, most of them certainly learn that the behaviour is looked down upon and may feel guilt over it, that isn’t the same thing as growing out of it. There’s a very large number of people whose morality is oriented around whether or not they’re caught, not honest, vulnerable interrogation of themselves and committing to change.
