For anyone who happens to search and find this thread. I did get it up and running. It works very well after a few tweaks. I would recommend:

• Full Screen (Windowed)
• Set Battle.net to close on game launch
• Set a frame rate maximum either in the game or through MangoHUD or some other method.

The biggest issue I had was when installing the dialog said to not login to HOTS at this time—just cancel. When the language dialog appears, you need to continue through it.

This is on Resolute Raccoon Ubuntu with Gnome and Wayland.

It is exactly as good as it was if you aren’t really competitive. I’m sure at the top end the lack of a large, financially motivated player base must suck. But I am nowhere near the top.
