The feet kind of work as a flared base. I’m more concerned about the general size, if that’s literally your first buttplug you’re definitely gonna have a bad time.

I always want to do this, but I can never decide that I really like a piece of clothing before it’s sold out.
But why are those not interesting for this study? It kinda feels like the question they want to answer is “how many teenager are having premarital sex, i.e. dirty sinners” instead of “what is people’s age of first sex”. Which would also mean that lots of teenagers would feel encouraged to claim that they’re virgins when they actually aren’t.

6·24 hours agoMy first thought is that that kind of location also makes invading harder. For thousands of years, armies had to acquire most of their provisions on the road because logistics are hard when you’re marching thousands of people on foot, and “acquire” usually meant “steal” even on home territory.
Being invaded fucking sucks, so it’s quite possible that a lot of people were willing to trade personal liberty for security.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•So, are optical implants going to be vilified the same way smart glasses have been?
451·1 day agoThere aren’t going to be a whole lot of people who are going to fuck with their eyesight if they don’t have a severe eyesight handycap, which isn’t as common as Meta wants smart glasses to be.
Also, every hearing aid is a microphone, yet I’ve never heard of a case where information from hearing aids was being misused. Almost like there’s a big divide between aids for disabilities and surveillance tech.
Neat. Why specifically “never-married”, though?
It’s not that I believe that the currently known figures are accurate, but that I’m still waiting for a source for “early 20s”. That commenter made a specific claim with nothing to back it up. Could just as well be 19, or 29.

6·2 days agoWeight loss isn’t that complicated (not easy, but not complicated). The rest is barber shops and probably a make-up artist (pretty normal for people who get high-resolution fotos done or appear on TV).
Also, his face looks weird af.
Females (man I hate using that word, but “girls” or “women” don’t really seem appropriate here, either) have similar numbers, I kind of doubt that most of them had boyfriends in their early 20s, or a similar incentive to lie about it.
Either way, the “early 20s” claim is unsourced and pretty far from what’s generally accepted, so there’s just no reason to believe it.
Source? Average age of first sex for males is about 15 in my country.
Fun fact: Fighters with big-ass swords were often used specifically to break up pike formations. Long sharp stick formations usually suffered from sub-par maneuvrability, once they’re past the pike tips it becomes kinda difficult to hit an attacker.
Or the potato fruit, was quite the issue with popularizing potatoes as a food crop!

20·3 days agoI think Matrix offers most of the functions you need, “Discord but selfhostable and with E2EE” is pretty much what the Matrix devs are going for. Though it kinda has issues with ease-of-use, performance and stability, so TBH I doubt it’s going to work for you.

Zorin is Ubuntu-based instead of Arch-based like Cachy, so regular updates can be run without reading update notices and it doesn’t matter whether your last update was yesterday or 3 months ago (obviously bad for security reasons, but it’s not going to break anything).
Also: Dresscodes overrated, embrace the all-black get-up.
Sounds too much like a dresscode TBH. Common dress code for e.g. waiters and antifa, and cops usually wear a very dark blue that’s indistinguishable from black at night.

1·5 days agoRegular lube often contains silicone. I assume ingesting small quantities won’t be that bad, since all the genital and anal membranes are already pretty permeable, but I wouldn’t push my luck by licking it off.
Often, you can relatively easily replace the ad (mostly the ones that are behind glass panes). There’s some pretty fun adbusting going on.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Best actually practical use cases for old tech?
2·5 days agoIf the devices don’t have any broken parts, you could keep at least one of them around as a backup for when your main PC has issues. 2008 laptops are still perfectly fine for e.g. Linux + Libreoffice, and you could load them with a bunch of offline stuff like dictionaries, a text-only wikipedia backup, CD/DVD-based enzyclopedia etc. - this could be quite valuable if your home net becomes infested by malware. I also kept using my old laptop for a long time specifically for its optical drive, because every once in a while I buy second-hand music CDs.
Though in my case, the issue is that my old devices all had hardware issues. My ~2008 laptop has a completely broken keyboard, and a netbook from the same era doesn’t even turn on anymore. Most of my old phones have broken screens etc., and the really old ones are unusably slow (maybe I could remedy that by installing a really old android version). TBF, my current laptop is from 2015 and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop working anytime soon.
