Several years ago, a few of the billionaires backed their own horse in the race to develop longevity therapies. It’s not about the money, it’s about buying favors. Such a therapy, if it works well enough, might not be available at any price. Instead, the owner will keep it to hand out and hook other powerful people into doing their bidding.
