Yeah, -20 is not that bad, if you dress right. I will say, that the air starts to hurt your face noticeably more, when it drops close to -30 and under. If it is windy, though, that makes the cold brutal even at -15.
Wind is a killer, but I find (at least here) that when it gets -40 style cold it becomes quite still wind wise outside of a storm. If the winds blowing I am going to be inside.
Eh, its fine if its a dry cold. Good gear goes a long way and the good news is that after -20 its more or less the same feel.
