I think butch is still around, but now there are also masc people who can look like butches but should not be referred to as butches, unless that is their wish.
Edit: I say this as a masc person who doesnt identify as butch but could some days pass as one at first glance.

It has a specific meaning not everyone identifies with, but I very regularly meet folks for whom Butch is what captures a part of their identity, sexuality, and gender. And alternately, sometimes also meet people who identify as masc 🤷🏻♂️
