People will ask me sometimes to take a quick look at their computer and after one glance at the browser I deploy uBlock. I can’t imagine seeing the internet without it.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang tells Trump the president 'saw through' AI doomsayingEnglish
72·1 day agoThe AI developers have decided that they need to drum up increasingly impossible danger scenarios that AI will do, in order to keep up funding their highly subsidised services.
nvidia needs to keep pumping the valuation of these companies because if they stop buying, nvidia stock implodes.
Jensen is a yes- man

61·2 days agoWhile you’re right, it’s not a reason for Americans to either not vote or vote for a Republican.
Another example, perhaps should be “republicans are rounding up and deporting people based on skin colour”

9·2 days agothe search engines were overwhelmed with so blogspam before AI; now it’s an awful state.
But I still use them instead of AI. It’s just really hard to find a primary source. AI hallucinates. Human knowledge catalog has peaked.

10·2 days agoChildren only count on the womb for republicans.
Boomer: there’s no choice for Americans. They have to choose between the democrats and republicans
Me: well, yeah, I know I struggle to choose between “bomb people” and “universal healthcare”
Boomer: but the democrats support abortion, so really, no choice
I think coral is not current and hard to get but I don’t watch too closely. Seems to still work! Reolink on camera detection is decent enough for me.
I’ve had a good experience with Reolink PoE cameras. They do RTSP and ONVIF and integrate well with Homeassistant.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•SOLVED Issues with https certs locallyEnglish
14·8 days agoFirstly, wildcards are convenient but they break your functionality of authenticating the server to which you are connecting which is half of what TLS does. That may or may not be important to you.
Does it work without TLS? Start there, making sure dns and reverse proxy works, works, then add the certificate/TLS termination.

13·18 days agoI think chicken tax is for overseas only? So maybe?
AI companies really shot themselves in the foot with their scare marketing and then talking about covering the planet in datacentres - they’re the physical manifestation of AI, so no wonder they’re being opposed. And then when they do build them, they’re steamrollered past environmental restrictions and make front page news for their noise and pollution.
