I love Neocities.

Just recently set up a personal page for myself that, when it’s finished, I’ll put may actual URL into: https://flashmobofone.neocities.org/

It’s also gotten surprisingly good traffic for a little rinky-dink page. 6000 views in a month, way more than my old Geocities page ever got.

In 2014 I vividly remember Google Glass wearers putting labels on them so people would know. (The few who weren’t perverts, at least.)

Just like your FB, TikTok, or Instagram app on your phone, by accepting the terms and using the software, you agree to the privacy violations that come along with it. (At least for now) Though, oddly, Texas (and even more oddly, Ken Paxton) have a lawsuit pending to curtail it.

I made a video on it for my channel if anyone’s interested.

I can say, as an LGTV owner, you don’t have to opt in and your TV will still work as a TV. You just won’t have access to the online features, and knowing how much data you give up by connecting your TV to a wireless network, you shouldn’t be giving it network access anyway.

I fully believe that there’s a cop out there who’s already used these things to stalk and kill people, and either they just haven’t been found out yet or their blue brothers are covering for them.

Insatiable greed is a feature of the our species. It always has been, always will be, and there will always be a handful willing to destroy everything if it means they win.

The illegal privacy violations ‘smart TV features’ are way, way worse than you probably think. I’d encourage everyone to read up on it and, if you have a smart TV, educate yourself on how to turn off ACR and/or make it a habit of unplugging your TV when you don’t use it.

There won’t be any meaningful regulation until information stolen via these kinds of unlawful surveillance leads to a very violent public event, and even that might not be enough. This is America after all, and we love our violence and tragedy theatre.

Really this has been a 40-year process, with Reagan being the progenitor, and every president since doing their part to move us incrementally to the fascist right.

Biden’s presidency sticks out in my mind because that’s the one where my 80 year-old parents had to start borrowing my car to drive for DoorDash in order to survive.

Most Americans can’t even afford groceries now. Many are living out of their cars. They’re IN fascism, and it happened when Blue MAGA had the power to change things.

People didn’t vote for Donald because they like him. They just hated the other side more.

Get your Blue MAGA friends to do something about the fact that, under Obama, my dad’s business regressed because he indulged his billionaire buddies and let them get off scot-free for pillaging the economy, and then under Biden my mom and dad, at age 80, had to drive for DoorDash to survive in a car they borrow from me.

I don’t care that Democrats say nice things. People can’t fucking eat in this country, and they did their part to make that happen just as Republicans did.

Both ruling parties are fascist turds. Pretending otherwise is silly now that people’s basic standard of living no longer exists.
