I regret leaving my Gameboy behind in the divorce. I wasn’t thinking straight at the time.

Delta is a great emulator on the phone, if you’re jonesing for some portable nostalgia

It’s been really fun replaying GBA games

Agreed, if you have the means the real game boy (or another clone) is best

But for simple games like Pokémon, Advance War, and Kirby I’ve been able to make do

And it’s free.99 on something I always have on me so that wins out for me

      Don’t keep that regret.

I had two original gameboys, those things degrade really bad. Maybe no audio, maybe the display lines working get less and less.

So what I can recommend very much is getting an analogue pocket if you want it premium, hardware emulated or one of the anbernic devices if you want it still quite good but massively cheaper and software emulated.

They made it a video game?!
I remember doing these things on paper when I was a child!

It’s never too late to Picross (no really, Jupiter still makes them for Nintendo and you can find them on switch, and you can always pirate them if you have ethical concerns!)

If you want a different flavor, there’s also Final Fantasy Pictlogica (also Jupiter made) but the most recent version is a defunct freemium mobile game. Go 3DS emulation for it.

Oh and honorable mention to indie game Murder By Numbers, although I felt like that was more VN than Picross.

I’ve been playing through this and collecting the RetroAchievements for it. I keep picking up my handheld for other games before deciding to tackle a few more puzzles instead. I’ll be both relieved and a little disappointed to finish it.

I think I traded my cart of this for Motocross Maniacs 2

Picross games are all over the phone stores, touch screens make it so much easier, too.
