Her stuff is incredible, I can’t recommend her books enough.
One year later, the AI crisis is far worse: for the world at large, and for me in particular. In July 2026, The Times of India, one of the oldest and largest English-language papers in the world, ran a feature about me hallucinated by AI robots.
Knew from the post title it was going to be Times of India. Complete, utter trash. Genuinely appalling excuse for journalism. The last time I read one of their articles, they were reporting on a story that happened two years ago as though it were happening in 2026.
They’re also a regime mouthpiece now
Things like this are why I don’t believe AI is going to kill us anytime soon.
Oh boy. AI has certainly sped up our demise (or at least a significant change in quality of life), but that’s all related to a significant contribution to climate change due to energy consumption.
Every single variation of “top five reasons that AI will kill us” doomsday prophecies, is either due to them being morons, or paid shills to suggest AI is more intelligent than a parrot on a good day. In any case, a speculative distraction from the knowable negative consequences.
It may declare us dead, deny our life insurance payout because we aren’t dead, post our job because we’re dead, deny us welfare because we have a job, then send us to a coroner’s appointment who will use an AI tool to decide we are dead and bury us alive in a giant pit with others because AI is the future and who are we to question it.
🤣 oh gipity
