  • Unfortunately boomers really hated so many of their kids that they’re kids think thats what it is like to be parents.

Faith unfortunately did nothing to save the boomers, that dopamine treadmill effected that too and the idea “what’s the point of a soul if no one ever dies?” Lingers in the mind.

We really do have a misanthropy problem in the west. Left and right agree they fucking hate people. They forget people is the sweet grandma, the goofy kid, the kind person who helped them once, the stocker that shelved their food, the HV/AC tech that worked to keep it frozen, etc etc etc. More people then the mind can comprehend make the best parts of our live and take care of those we love. We are part of that too.

  • Being a rent seeking parasite is good actually.

I don’t agree, but I notice a lot of people actually do fantazise being an aristocrat. The goal is to retire and be served by others now. The fact that slavery and brutal autocracies force millions to labor for the first world is seen as abstract but the primary issue most people have in the first world is that we don’t get enough of the share of loot from these brutal systems. Its the same reason “white privilege” is seen as so ridiculous to some. People are working hard, and life is tough, so the idea that they got more they deserved too is an affront to the narrative we hold for ourselves.

  • This is way. I mean if you are going to vote otherwise vote third party to help them get that 5% mark for federal funding and better ballot access.

But honestly we have to choose the most effective strats at all levels. Vote in the primaries Dems for progress or repubs for harm reduction choices. Vote for local politics where shit actually gets done. Vote state level where voting changes and law enforcement actually gets decided. Vote for the best of the two if your state is close, vote third if the worst evil is slated to land slide your state.

Get support and support mutual aid. Join resistance networks. Support your community and worker coops. Boycott everything that supports evil where you can. Etc etc.

Honestly it seems like a lot but most of the nations politics don’t fucking matter. Filter for politicians that are on your ballot boxes otherwise they are just idealogues you like to listen too. AOC and John Thune are like 80% relevant for most Americans. They can’t vote for or against them.

  • Levergism. To get what you want in the world you need power to get power you need leverage to the keys to power.

For working class folks that tends to be in the form of withholding labor, providing labor both of which are dictated by supply and demand. So learning a specialty in an in demand field or getting/making tools or skills that make you more demand is common technique. (Organizing with others to be noted also a huge way to do this)

They are arguing that learning AI is like learning to drive a forklift or an excavator. Like sure you could use a shovel or set up pullies but it’s just faster and thus more valuable to use those tools.

The difference being we don’t actually know what tools and varients of those tools actually make sense. So it’s like saying you need to learn to use motors to a 1900s factor worker.
